When can the Citibank Credit Card Payment Not Go Through?

There can be instances when your Citibank card payment fails to get processed. This can be due to different reasons, depending on your chosen mode of payment. For example:

  • Offline Payment: Since this method involves entering information manually, there can be discrepancy in sign on the cheque not matching, overwriting on the cheque, missing out filling some information, incorrect date mentioned etc. Cheques also require 2-3 days of processing time, so you need to have sufficient buffer between making the payment and the due date.

  • Online Payment: Always tally the information such as amount to be paid, account details, IFSC code and other pertinent information before clicking on the submit button. Insufficient funds or a dormant account can also lead to the payment not going through.
