KCC Eligibility

The Kisan Credit Card is a special option that is provided to farmers so that they can have access to low-funding from a bank. This scheme was launched by the Government of India in 1998 and the main aim behind this scheme was to provide short-term financial credit to farmers. Initially, farmers were bound to get capital or credit through the informal sector. This typically resulted in high-interest rates and a subsequent debt trap for the farmers. As a result, the KCC scheme seemed to be beneficial as it offered credit at lower interest rates.

The KCC will also help farmers gain credit without any hassle and in a timely manner. In addition, the farmer would also be provided with a passbook that consists of their name, photograph, credit limit, validity, and other details. However, the KCC has a few eligibility criteria to avail of the same. Let’s have a detailed look into the Kisan card eligibility criteria in order to apply for KCC.
