Punjab National Bank (PNB) has recently launched its android-based application, which is a PNB Pride-CRMD module tool, for its differently abled employees. The tool is expected to be iOS compatible too, soon.
The Pride Module, PNB stated, authorises the visually impaired to independently access the system using the built-in talkback software. This allows them to get in touch with the customers with a simple tap on the phone. The app is designed to help monitor as well as follow up with the special mention account (SMA) borrowers. SMA accounts are essentially stressed loans that are recognized early. As a result, it helps banks in initiating timely remedial actions, while also preventing such borrowers from slipping to non-performing asset (NPA).
As per the Bank, the app promotes the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities- be it visual or any other physical impairment. It also stressed that the development opens new avenues for the ‘PNB Warriors’ and empowers them to make a valuable and tangible contribution.
Vijay Dube, executive director, Punjab National Bank, stated that the utilisation of the skills and abilities of the differently abled staff members was central to the idea of PNB Warriors and the implementation of the PNB Pride. He added, “The development of PNB Pride CRMD module was through a participative model and feedback received from differently abled staff members were incorporated in the module. The module is specifically developed with focus on our visually impaired employees so that they are able to work with convenience and contribute to the business and collections in loan accounts.”
Do note, this app will be different from the PNB ONE app, which is dedicated for credit cards, debit cards, and other banking operations.
