  • The policy covers the room rent for a single AC room.

  • The policy covers the pre- and post- hospitalization costs of up to 15 days. It also includes the expenses arising from investigations, consultations, and medications.

  • The policy covers up to six members under it. However, note that this clause may differ from insurer to insurer in India.

What is not Covered in Dengue Insurance?

The following are the exclusions of Dengue Insurance plans available in the market –

  • The policy does not cover the treatment expenses for any unauthorised individual/member.

Dengue Insurance – Waiting Period

The waiting period in any insurance plan is the duration where one cannot raise any claims against the policy. It also depends on the terms and conditions of the insurer, and is applicable when buying the policy only and not during the renewals.

What is the Free Lookup Period?

Conditions to claim against Dengue Insurance in India?

Cashless Claim Settlement

  • The insurer needs to be informed within the first 24 hours of the emergency hospitalization. Any delay in this process can result in claim rejection.

  • The insurer needs to be notified at least 48 hours in advance in case of planned hospitalization.

  • After claiming against Dengue Insurance, the insurer will assess the application and send across an authorisation or rejection letter.

Reimbursement of Claim

  • The insurer has to be informed within seven days of availing the dengue treatment.

  • One needs to submit a duly filled claim application form along with other supporting documents to initiate the reimbursement process.

  • The insurer will revert in seven days if they need any more documents to verify the application.

  • The claims made against Dengue Insurance usually take up to 30 days to be settled by the insurer.
