Maruti Suzuki Dzire
This is a popular compact sedan car based on the Swift car of the Maruti Suzuki stable. It sells one unit every 2 mins and has recently crossed a total of 19 lakh cumulative sales mark, a feat unachieved by any sedan in the history of the Indian automobile industry so far. The new generation Dzire has recently got a facelift, and it’s spacious legroom, additional boot space are the attractive features that can impress any medium-sized family of 4-5 persons.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatchback Baleno has reached 6 lakh cumulative sales milestone since its launch in the country in Oct 2015. It is available in three engine options- petrol, diesel and a Dual jet, smart hybrid petrol. There’s also a Baleno RS variant powered by a 3-cylinder, petrol engine. In Jan 2019, it received a new facelift.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
The sales of new Wagon R that was launched in Jan 2019, have now crossed the 50,000 unit mark, in just four months of launch. It has witnessed a sales jump of 22 percent in May over the previous month maintaining its clear lead over rivals like Tata Tiago and Hyundai Santro in this segment. This reflects the popular acceptance of Wagon R in the country.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco
It made a return to the coveted list of country’ top 10 cars after almost ten years. With the Omni being phased out, this happens to be the only van in the company’s basket. This explains its 14 percent growth in May 2019 over the previous month. It is sold in many variants with multiple interior layouts to cater to different requirements.
Despite a negative month on month (MoM) growth of 14 percent in May 2019, Hyundai Creta now occupies the top spot as India’s no.1 selling SUV by overtaking Maruti Vitara Brezza, after nearly 2 years.
This is another model of Hyundai that has been around even before its prime competitor, the Maruti Baleno, which is placed at bit higher in the list. It has received several updates since its launch. The Hyundai i20’s month-on-month sales have declined by 14 percent in May 2019.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Ertiga is the only new entrant in the top 10 list of best-selling cars of May 2019, replacing the Hyundai Grand i10 from the previous top-10 list. This can be attributed to its sales that climbed by 10 percent in May 2019 from the previous month.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
The sales of this Maruti’s sub-SUV model have fallen down by a massive 25 percent in May 2019 when compared to its previous month sales. Despite the launch of Hyundai Venue eating into Brezza’s market share, it still manages to retain a spot in the top-10 list of cars sold in India.
