As we all know, health emergencies are perhaps the worst kind of situations which not only get us stressed due to the ill-health of a loved one, but also lead to a financial burden. Furthermore, with increasing healthcare costs over the last few years, it becomes all the more difficult to deal with. This gets worse for those falling under the lower-income groups of the society. To bridge this gap, the Assam government launched the Atal Amrit Abhiyan which seeks to make healthcare more affordable and cover critical care for BPL families.
Under the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, APL and BPL families with an annual income of up to ₹5 Lakh can receive cashless treatment and never miss out on any medical aid. The Atal Amrit Yojana is being implemented through Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd., which issues the Atal Amrit Card to individual adult members of the families that are eligible for this scheme. Once the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Card check is done, all you have to do is pay ₹100 annually towards the scheme. The Atal Amrit Yojana is also available for individuals across the country.
