Process for Driving Licence Test in Punjab

The driving test is standardised across the country and is conducted under the supervision of a Motor Vehicle Inspector at the RTO branch. The applicant’s vehicle needs to be of the same vehicle class as the class specified on the application form. There are two main types of driving tests.

  • Test for Two or Three-Wheeler

The driving test for two or three-wheelers is structured in a way that the applicant must be able to drive the vehicle in an 8 figure in a marked area. During this task, the applicant’s feet must not touch the ground and they must not touch the side rails. Upon clearing this test, the applicant can proceed to the road test. For this, the applicant has to drive for a specified distance, while following traffic rules.
