Offline Process to Apply for a Fitness Certificate 

Step 1: Visit a zonal RTO office that has jurisdiction over your location.

 

Step 2: Collect form 20 and form 38 from the RTO office and fill them up accurately. 

 

Step 3: Submit the forms to the RTO office with the required payment.

 

Step 4: Bring in your vehicle for inspection.

 

Step 5: After your documents are verified, and the vehicle inspection happens, the RTO will assign a fitness certificate. 

Online Process to Apply for a Fitness Certificate 

Step 1: Go to the official Parivahan website and enter your vehicle’s registration number. 

 

Step 2: Under the ‘Online Services’ menu, click on the option for ‘Application for Fitness Certificate’. 

 

Step 3: Enter your chassis number, then enter your mobile number and verify it with the OTP. 

 

Step 4: Enter all the necessary data such as insurance details, vehicle info, etc. on the application page. 

 

Step 5: Make the payment for your fitness certificate application and download the digital receipt. 

 

Step 6: Present the digital receipt at your nearby RTO to receive the fitness certificate.

Validity of the Fitness Certificate

Step 2: Under ‘Online Services’, click on ‘Duplicate of Fitness Certificate’.

 

Step 3: Enter your chassis number, then enter your mobile number and verify it with the OTP.

 

Step 4: Fill in other important information, then click on ‘Select Appointment Date’ and book an appointment.

 

Step 5: Pay the online fee for a duplicate fitness certificate and download the receipt. 

 

Step 6: Go to the RTO on the appointment date for verification. After verification, your duplicate fitness certificate will be provided.
