This personal accident insurance sachet provides a sum insured if the insured has suffered bodily injuries due to a personal accident.  It also covers the travel expenses incurred by the insured’s family to reach him during the hour of need. It also covers for road ambulance charges, cost of accidental hospitalization and provides cash benefit in case of hospitalization.

The insured gets a Sum Insured of Rs. 1 Lakh in case of Permanent Partial or Permanent Total Disability due to an accident. The insured also gets additional accidental hospitalization benefit of Rs. 2 Lakh and emergency travel expenses (for one family member) of Rs. 25,000.  

The insured gets a Sum Insured of Rs. 1 Lakh in case of Permanent Partial Disability or Rs. 5 Lakh in case of Permanent Total Disability due to an accident. The insured also gets additional accidental hospitalization benefits of Rs. 2 Lakh and road ambulance cover of Rs. 25,000.

Exclusions

 
  • The actual cost of economy class transportation by the most direct route via a common carrier subject to the maximum Sum Insured as specified on the policy schedule against this cover
  • For this purpose, the family member shall mean spouse, parent, Children above the age of 18 years, sibling and in-laws of the insured.
  • The claim would be triggered under this section provided we have paid the claim for accidental Hospitalization for the insured person.
  • Expenses for Road ambulance transportation are restricted within India Only.
  • Any Pre-existing Condition(s) and complications arising out of or resulting therefrom.

If you meet with any Accidental Bodily Injury that may result in a claim, then as a condition precedent to our liability:

a. You or someone claiming on your behalf must inform us in writing immediately and in any event within 30 days from the date of the accident and submit all documents to us within 30 days from the date of intimation.

b. You must immediately consult a Doctor and follow the advice and treatment that he recommends.

c. You must take reasonable steps to lessen the consequence of Bodily injury.

d. You should allow examination by our medical advisors if we ask for this.

e. You or someone claiming on your behalf must promptly give us documentation and other information we ask for to investigate the claim or our obligation to make payment for it.

f. In case of your death, someone claiming on your behalf must inform us in writing immediately and send us a copy of the post mortem report (if conducted) within 30 days.

*Note: Waiver of conditions (a) and (f) may be considered in extreme cases of hardship where it is proved to Our satisfaction that under the circumstances in which the Insured Person was placed, it was not possible for the Insured Person or any other person claiming on his/her behalf to give notice or file claim within the prescribed time limit.

  • We may cancel this insurance by giving You at least 15 days written the notice, and if no claim has been made then we shall refund a pro-rata premium for the unexpired Policy Period. Under normal circumstances, Policy will not be canceled except for reasons of misrepresentation, fraud, non-disclosure of material facts or Your non-cooperation.
  •  You may cancel this insurance by giving us at least 15 days written the notice, and if no claim has been made then we shall refund premium on short term rates for the unexpired Policy Period as per the rates detailed below.

What is covered under Outstation Accident Cover?

This personal accident insurance covers travel expenses for your family to reach your current city/town of residence, in case of an accident (road or otherwise). Permanent Total & Permanent Partial Disability are covered and Sum Insured of up to Rs. 4 Lakh is provided. The costs of Road Ambulance & Accidental Hospitalization are covered too and you can choose between two variant covers.

If the insured is dissatisfied with the facilities available in the hospital that he is getting treated in and decides to opt for another hospital. Then will the Road Ambulance costs incurred to move the insured from one hospital to another, be covered or not?

Yes, the road ambulance costs incurred will be covered under this accident insurance, provided that: 1) The insured’s claims are still arising out of injuries sustained due to an accident and 2) You did not exhaust your limit of Rs. 25,000 during the first time you opted for a road ambulance.

What travel expenses are covered under Outstation Accident Cover?

If the policyholder meets with an accident in a city/town outside of his usual place of residence and is admitted in a hospital there, then the travel expenses incurred by one Family Member (as mentioned in the policy) to reach the insured, is covered up to the sum insured (in economy class).

Is there any age limit involved if one wants to buy this insurance?

Yes, there is an entry age limit. The insured’s entry age should be between 18 years to 70 years.
