Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Form 2020

PMAY, otherwise known as the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ scheme, was launched by India’s PM Narendra Modi with the goal of making affordable housing accessible to all segments of society. In 2015, the PMAY scheme was launched and put out in phases that are to be completed by 2022. Hence, note that the final date you can apply for the PMAY scheme and avail a subsidized rate on home loans is March 31st, 2022. To apply for this scheme you will have to fill out the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana form or ‘PMAY form’ available both online and offline, as per your convenience. Here are the steps to applying for PMAY.

How to Apply for PMAY

There are two streams through which you may apply for PMAY- the online application via the website pmaymis.gov.in or the offline portal via a common service center (CSC).

Online Application for PMAY

Online Application for PMAY is pretty straightforward.

  • Simply log on to the pmaymis.gov.in website.

  • Go to the ‘Citizen Assessment’ section and click on any of the applicable choices between “Benefits under other 3 components” and “For slum dwellers.”

  • Now enter all your latest Aadhar card details.

  • Once your Aadhar number is entered correctly, you will be redirected to an application page where for the PMAY online application form.

  • Correctly fill in all your latest information. You will be required to fill your name, bank account, income details, contact information, and other details.

  • You can save your form online by clicking ‘Save,’ you will then be required to enter a captcha code.

  • Now your application is complete and you may download the form and print it for future reference.

Offline Application for PMAY

Offline application for PMAY is another option if that is more convenient for you. Here is the process to fill out the PMAY form offline.

  • If you wish to apply for PMAY offline, the first step is visiting a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC). These are made available in every state and union territory by the government.

  • Once you are at the center, an official will give you the PMAY application form which you will be required to fill up.

  • Once your form is completely filled you will be required to pay a minimal application fee of ₹25 with GST added to the CSC so you can submit your application.

  • It is important to mention that there are no private persons or entities that have been authorized by India’s MOHUA —Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs — that can collect the fee from any potential applicants. Only fees submitted to CSC are legitimate and valid when it comes to applying for PMAY offline.

How to Check my PMAY Application Status

Once you have filled the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana form, whether online or offline, you have the option to check the status of your application. While this procedure can only be done online, it is convenient for most as you can do this from the comfort of your home.

  • Firstly, you will be required to log onto the PMAY website. You can then click on the ‘Citizen Application’ button which will reveal a ‘Check Status’ button. You may also simply open this link which will redirect you to this page, but note that a login will be necessary: http://pmaymis.gov.in/Track_Application_Status.aspx

  • Once you hit the ‘Check Status’ button, you will have the option to choose between which will be to check your status by ‘By Assessment ID’ or ‘By your Name, Father’s Name & Mobile No’

  • If you choose ‘By Assessment ID’ as your method of checking, Enter the assessment ID and mobile number which was first assigned to you once the form was filled and submitted by you. Then click Submit, and you will learn your application stage.

  • If you select ‘By your Name, Father’s Name & Mobile No’ as a means to check your application status, you will be required to provide District, State, and City details. Then you will be requested to fill in your father’s name, your name, and your registered mobile number. Once filled, hit submit, and your status can be viewed.

Necessary Documents for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Online Form

Certain documents are required to verify your PMAY Form. They are as follows:

  • Identity and Address proof is also necessary with the help of one’s Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, and Driving License.

  • Any proof of belonging to a minority group is required if the applicant claims to be from a minority.

  • A passport is necessitated for proof of nationality.

  • Low Income Group certificate or an Economically Weaker Section certificate is required to check one's eligibility for PMAY.

  • Proof of income via Salary slips, income tax return statements, and most recent account statements.

  • A property valuation certificate which serves to prove that the applicant is constructing a home, or buying one with this scheme is also necessary. Additionally, some form of proof that the applicant does not own an Indian ‘pucca house’ is also mandatory.

    • Individual’s owning a pucca house less than 21 sqm may be included under the enhancement of existing house

    • An adult earning member of the family irrespective of marital status is eligible for the scheme.
