The PAN correction form can be downloaded from two websites, namely, NSDL and UTIITSL. 

1. Downloading PAN Card Correction Form Through NSDL:

  1. Visit the official NSDL portal and in the ‘Download’ drop-down menu, select PAN.

  2. Click on Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data Form.

  3. You will be directed to the PAN correction form, which is available as a PDF.

2. Downloading PAN Card Correction Form Through UTIITSL:

  1. Head to the official UTIITSL portal and click on ‘PAN Services.’

  2. Select Change/Correction in PAN Card.

  3. Click on Download Blank Change/Correction Request Form (pdf).

How to Apply for PAN Card Correction Online

Downloading the PAN Card correction form is essential if you are planning to apply for changes to your PAN Card through offline means. However, it is important to know that this process can be completed online as well. It is extremely easy and convenient if you wish to apply for a PAN Card name change or PAN Card address change or any other change through the online medium. This process can also be completed through the portals of both NSDL and UTIITSL. Read below to learn more. 

 

1. Apply for PAN Card Correction Online Through NSDL:

  1. On the official NSDL website, select Changes and Correction in existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card (No Changes in Existing PAN Data) in the Application Type drop-down menu.

  2. Fill in your personal details, enter the captcha provided, and click on Submit.

  3. You will be directed to a new page where you must digitally submit your documents. You can submit your PAN documents by the e-KYC process while keeping your Aadhaar card handy. Submit the other documents along with the e-sign.

  4. Attest that all the required documents have been submitted and enter your personal details into the required fields and click on Submit.

  5. You will be directed to the payment gateway, where you can make your payment through debit or credit card, net banking, or demand draft.

  6. Once the payment has been completed, details of the successful transaction will be displayed to you.

  7. You are then required to verify your Aadhaar details. Check on the box and click on Authenticate in order to proceed further. 

  8. Once the Aadhaar authentication has been completed, continue with e-Sign or e-KYC to generate and send the OTP to your registered mobile number.

  9. Enter the OTP you receive on your phone and click on Submit.

  10. You will now be shown a page where you can review your PAN Card correction details. Check it and download the form for future reference. 

2. Apply for PAN Card Correction Online Through UTIITSL:

  1. Head to the official UTIITSL portal and click on PAN Card Services.

  2. Navigate to Change/Correction in PAN Card and click on Apply for Change/Correction in PAN Card details.

  3. You will be shown a CSF form, where you must enter all the requisite details.

  4. If you make any changes or corrections for any particular field, you must click on the red box. This will ensure that your PAN Card name change or address change request has been registered.

  5. Now, upload your documents through the e-KYC or e-Sign method.

  6. Once all the documents are uploaded, you need to name the documents submitted and fill in the personal details required.

  7. You will be directed to a payment gateway, where you can make the payment through cheque, DD, credit or debit card, or even net banking. 

  8. Once the payment is completed, you will be shown the details of your successful transaction.

  9. After this process, you need to click on Continue with e-KYC/e-Sign in order to generate an OTP.

  10. Submit the OTP you receive on your registered mobile number and click on Submit in order to complete the process.

 

Suppose you are using either of the online processes to apply for the updation or correction of your PAN Card details. In that case, your corrected or updated PAN Card will be sent to your registered address within 15 to 20 days of completing the verification. Additionally, in case you are not using the e-Sign method to submit your details as well as documents, you are required to get a printout of the form, attach the required documents, and submit it to the nearest UTIITSL office along with two passport-size pictures.

How to Apply for PAN Card Correction Offline

Submitting your PAN Card correction form offline is also quite a simple process. Read below to learn how you can update or correct your PAN Card details via the offline method.

 

  1. Download the PAN Card correction form from the website, as mentioned above. 

  2. Fill in all the required details carefully.

  3. Submit the filled-out form to the nearest NSDL office with the required documents and two passport-size photographs.

  4. At the NSDL Centre, you will be asked to make the payment, and once the payment has been completed, you will be issued a 15-digit acknowledgement number that you can use to track your PAN Card status. 

Documents Required for PAN Card Correction

1. For Indian individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs)

  1. Government-approved proof of identity, such as Aadhaar Card, voter’s ID, etc.

  2. Government-approved proof of residence, such as passport, Aadhaar Card, etc. 

  3. Government-approved proof of birth, such as birth certificate, driving licence, etc.

  4. Two passport-size pictures. 

2. For Business Enterprises or Companies With Offices in India:

  1. Proof of identity, such as a copy of registration provided by any competent authority.

  2. Proof of address, such as utility bills, etc.

3. For Business Enterprises or Companies With Offices Only Outside India:

  1. A copy of your companies registration certificate issued by a competent authority in the country you are located, which the Indian Embassy or High Commission must also attest.

  2. A copy of your company's registration certificate, which an Indian authority has authorised.

4. For Foreign Citizens:

  1. Valid proof of identity, such as passport

  2. Proof of residence includes a copy of your PIO Card or citizenship identification number

5. For Foreign Entities (Separate from Individuals)

  1. Valid proof of address and identity

  2. This could be your registration certificate alloted by your country or your Embassy or the Indian High Commission.

  3. Local Indian authorities must also authenticate the registration certificate.
