  • Coverage against Permanent Partial Disability

    The policyholder is eligible for a pay-out if they suffer permanent partial disability due to a sustained bodily injury, directly or indirectly, within 12 months of an accident.

  • Coverage against Temporary Total Disability

    If the policyholder sustains an injury due to an accident and it causes them in completely preventing their occupation or employment, then they will be paid a weekly coverage according to the plan opted for. They will get the weekly pay-out for the disability period as specified by the respective doctor. The disability period begins from the date of injury and is subject to a maximum of 100 weeks.

What’s not Covered under Accidental Cover with Child Care

Let’s also understand some of the exclusions of the Accidental Cover with Child Care:

 

  1. If the policyholder is involved in alcoholism, substance or drug abuse, or any addictive condition, this coverage does not cover the consequences.

  2. Self-injury, suicide or attempted suicide, or self-inflicted injury.

  3. Criminal or unlawful act, whether it is deliberate or unintentional.

  4. Involvement in any kind of felony, misdemeanour, civil commotion, or crime, whether actual or attempted.

  5. If the policyholder is a driver, co-driver, passenger on a motorbike in trial runs or motor racing.

  6. Treatment related to injury caused due to participation in adventurous or hazardous sports. Such sports can include rock climbing, para-jumping, motor racing, scuba diving, horse racing, etc.

  7. Curative treatments or interventions are not covered.

  8. Treatment for injury due to air force, military, naval or police operations, whether in peace or at a war, are not covered.

  9. Learning or operating aircraft or serving as a member of the crew and suffers an injury.

  10. If the policyholder engages in ballooning or aviation, mounting into, dismounting from or traveling in any balloon other than as a passenger in any duly licensed standard aircraft anywhere in the world, the treatment expenses are not covered.

  11. Pre-existing injuries or complications are not covered.

  12. If there is a consequential loss of legal liability, the policyholder will not be covered under this insurance policy.

  13. If there is any kind of complication arising due to pregnancy, abortion or miscarriage, the policyholder will not be able to reap the benefits of this cover.

  14. The toxic, radioactive, explosive or other dangerous properties of any nuclear equipment.

  15. Any injury while working in underground mines or explosive magazines.

There are specific exclusions which are applicable to the section ‘Accidental Hospitalisation Expenses

  1. If the treatment has been taken under someone who is not registered as a medical practitioner under respective medical councils.

  2. Any kind of dental injury or surgery, unless it is as a result of accidental bodily injury to the natural teeth, which requires hospitalisation.

  3. Expenses for any kind of cosmetic or plastic surgery.

  4. If the treatment has been taken outside of India, it is not covered under this insurance plan.

  5. Any kind of vaccination and inoculation, provided it does not form a part of treatment for injury because of an accident, as prescribed by a medical practitioner.

  6. Expenses of the treatment for a pre-existing disability from a previous accident that occurred before the purchase of this insurance policy.

  7. Treatments, procedures or supplies which do not have enough medical documentations from licensed medical practitioners to prove their effectiveness.

  8. If the medical advice or treatment is received within 48 months prior to the first policy issued by the insurer and renewed continuously thereafter.

Can I reap the benefits of the Accidental Cover with Child Care Plan for my pre-existing disease or disability?

Pre-existing injury or complications are not covered.
