FAQs on How to Apply for an Aadhaar Card?

✔️What details will be captured during the Aadhaar enrolment process?

When you enrol for your Aadhaar Card, you will be asked to submit identity proof, address proof as well as proof of birth. Additionally, your biometric data such as your fingerprints and iris scan will be captured during the process as well.

✔️Will the operator charge any fee for Aadhaar enrolment?

No. The Aadhaar enrolment is done for free-of-cost; therefore, you will not be charged for applying for an Aadhaar card.

✔️Is there a minimum age for applying for Aadhaar?

No. There is no lower age limit for applying. Aadhaar numbers can be obtained even by newborn newborns.

✔️Can I still enrol if I don't have all of my fingers or both of my irises?

Yes. Aadhaar software includes a feature to address such situations. For example, in the Aadhaar Client Program, there is an option called exception for the blind. When an exception is marked on the iris in the software, it infers that the resident is blind, which is visually impaired. A full-size photograph of the visually impaired individual will also be taken.
