Kisan Credit Card Application Process

The Indian government introduced the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in 1998 to issue Kisan credit cards to farmers. This scheme endeavours to offer timely and necessary credit to farmers to meet their production credit needs and incidental expenses, and fund ancillary activities. The KCC scheme was created by NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) to offer short-term formal credit to farmers.

The interest rates for Kisan credit cards are nominal, starting as low as 2% and averaging at 4%. These loans also have flexible repayment tenures, allowing farmers to fund their purchases conveniently without any hassle. As per the Union Budget 2020, all farmers under the PM Kisan scheme are eligible to own a Kisan credit card.

The PM Kisan credit card application process is simple, and eligible farmers can apply for the Kisan credit card online or offline.
