INVESTOR CHARTER 

Bajaj Finserv Direct Limited (BFDL) is an Investment Adviser (INA000016083) registered with SEBI and offers to its investors a platform for investments in direct plans of Mutual Funds which is made available through its collaboration with BSE Star.

A. VISION AND MISSION STATEMENTS FOR INVESTORS

1. Vision – Create an Investment Marketplace by offering Open Architecture platform with multiple partners and products to enable seamless online execution.

 

2. Mission - Investors should be able to:

  • easily make a choice and seamlessly invest in suitable investment and savings products based on their financial needs,

  • enable tracking of investments,

  • access portfolio reports and

  • avail allied finance products and services.

B. DETAILS OF BUSINESS TRANSACTED BY BFDL WITH RESPECT TO THE INVESTORS

  • To establish a relationship of a financial product distributor.

  • To conduct financial risk profiling (if applicable) and product suitability.

  • To offer multiple investment products from different product manufacturers.

  • To disclose remuneration in terms of distribution fee income from the product manufacturers, if any.

  • To disclose the platform fees and service charges (if applicable).

  • To maintain confidentiality & data privacy of personal and financial information during fulfilment of investment transactions across different product manufacturers.

  • Prior to launch of advisory services, we will enter into an agreement with the client providing all details including fee details, aspect of Conflict of interest disclosure and maintaining confidentiality of information.

  • To obtain registration with Know Your Client Registration Agency (KRA) and Central Know Your Customer Registry (CKYC), on a need basis.

  • To conduct audit periodically.

  • To disclose the status of complaints on our website.

  • To disclose the name, type of registration, registration number, validity, complete address with telephone numbers and associated regulatory details on our website.

  • To deploy well trained resources.

  • To maintain all necessary records as required

C. DETAILS OF SERVICES PROVIDED TO INVESTORS

1. Onboarding of Clients

  • Acceptance of BFDL and Partner’s Terms & Conditions by the investors either electronically or physically.

  • Completing KYC requirements as applicable for specific investments. 

 

2. Disclosure to Clients

  • To provide full disclosure about its business and affiliations.

  • To disclose the risk profile to the investor.

To display/offer suitable investment products to the clients based on the financial risk-profiler and suitability of the client.

D. DETAILS OF GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MECHANISM AND HOW TO ACCESS IT

  • In case of any grievance / complaint, an investor should approach BFDL and it shall ensure that the grievance is resolved within 30 days.

  • If the investor’s complaint is not redressed satisfactorily, investor may lodge a complaint with appropriate regulator on their portal which is a centralized web-based complaints redressal system.

  • Mutual fund investors can approach SEBI through SCORES portal. SEBI takes up the complaints registered via SCORES with the concerned intermediary for timely redressal. SCORES facilitates the Investor to track the status of the complaint.

  • With regard to physical complaints, investors may send their complaints to: Office of Investor Assistance and Education, Securities and Exchange Board of India, SEBI Bhavan, Plot No. C4-A, ‘G’ Block, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra (E), Mumbai - 400 051.

E. EXPECTATIONS FROM THE INVESTORS (RESPONSIBILITIES OF INVESTORS)

1. Do's

  • Always fill the required information in KYC and Application forms correctly.

  • Always assess your risk profile before choosing investment products.

  • Assess the risk–return profile of the investment product as well as the liquidity and safety aspects before making investments.

  • Know the investment product features and benefits before committing your funds.

  • Invest in products that are aligned with your financial goals and objectives.

  • Be vigilant in your transactions.

  • Keep a track on the investments by referring the statements periodically.

  • Approach the appropriate authorities for redressal of your doubts / grievances.

  • Inform SEBI about Investment Advisers offering assured or guaranteed returns.

 

2. Don'ts

  • Avoid investing in any product by making payment in cash.

  • Do not handover any cash to BFDL’s representative.

  • Do not transfer funds in name of BFDL’s representatives for the purpose of investments.

  • Do not draw any investment cheque which is not crossed and/or which does not have a bearer name.

  • Don’t fall for the promise of indicative or exorbitant or assured returns offered on any investment product. Don’t let greed overcome rational investment decisions.

  • Don’t fall prey to luring advertisements or market rumours.

  • Don’t take decisions just because of repeated messages and communication.

  • Do not fall prey to limited period discount or other incentive, gifts, etc. offered.

  • Don’t rush into making investments that do not match your risk-taking appetite and investment objectives.

  • Do not share login credential and password of your investment accounts with anyone.

Common Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for reporting the demise of an Investor

 

SEBI, in consultation with various stakeholders, has issued guidelines for a centralized mechanism for reporting and verification in case of the demise of an investor and thereby, smoothen the process of transmission in securities market.

 

As required under SEBI Circular No.SEBI/HO/OIAE/OIAE_IAD-1/P/CIR/2023/0000000163 on Centralized mechanism for reporting the demise of an investor through KRAs dated October 03,2023 the Standard operating procedure (SOP) finalized is as below.
