  2. Take the completed Form 20 to the RTO nearest to you.

  3. An officer at the RTO will inspect the vehicle that is up for registration. However, an inspection is also conducted by the dealer the car is purchased from, and the report submitted by the dealer to you can also be presented to the RTO officer.

  4. After verifying Form 20 and the supporting documents attached to it, the RTO will generate a unique registration number.

  5. The Registration Certificate will reach you via speed post at the address mentioned in Form 20.

Having valid motor insurance is mandatory for vehicle registration. To browse your options you can choose from several different types of motor insurance policies available on platforms like Finserv MARKETS. Choose from a range of comprehensive insurance policies that offer full protection against third-party liability, own damage to a vehicle, injuries due to accidents and access to a network of garages and service centres.

Third Party Insurance

Third-party insurance is the Motor Vehicles Act mandated insurance type that all vehicle owners have. It protects owners against third party damage liability but does not cover own damage to the vehicle.
