Factors Influencing the Premium of SBI General Car Insurance

  • Car’s Model, Make, and Variant

The value, manufacturer, model, geographical location, fuel, variant, etc. of the car determines its insurance premium.

  • Year of Manufacturing

Car’s age and insurance premiums are indirectly proportional. Hence, the vehicle’s insurance premium is higher for the newer cars and vice versa.

  • Location of Registration

Metro cities have a relatively higher premium since they have a higher probability of filing a claim and higher repair expenses.

  • Fuel Type

Petrol vehicles are less expensive than diesel vehicles. Hence, they charge lower rates as premiums.

  • No Claim Bonus

If you are renewing your SBI General car insurance, you may use the NCB to get a rate reduction of up to 50%.

  • Type of Policy

Your premium is also dependent upon the type of insurance coverage you buy.
