The Assam government gives ration cards to specific families in the state under the Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) of the Nation Food Security Act(NFSA), 2013. A ration card is a document that allows low-income or below-poverty-line families to obtain food grains at a reduced price. In Assam, ration cards are now given under the NFSA Scheme.
The Assam ration card list for 2024 is available online. The following are the steps you should follow:
Step 1: Visit the Assam PDS official website.
Step 2: Choose the name of your district in Assam.
Step 3: After that, you'll be brought to the Tehsil name page. Choose your Tehsil.
Step 4: When you click on the Tehsil name, you'll see villages in that Tehsil.

AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana)
Assam AAY Ration card is given to families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1 Lakh. They can avail 35kg/ration card.
PHH (Priority Household)
Assam PHH ration cards are given to families who live on an annual income of below Rs. 1 Lakh. Through it, they can avail 5kilograms per family member per month.
BPL(Below Poverty Line)
Assam BPL Ration card is given to people below the poverty line.

To apply for a ration card in Assam, go to the nearest Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs branch office.
Step 1: Select "PDS stakeholder" and then "In States" from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: After selecting "District Food and Supply Officer," select "FPS Dealers."
Step 3: Select a state by clicking on it.
Step 4: You'll be redirected to a new window. Select the district and block/Tehsil from the drop-down menus.
Step 5: Then select "view report."
Step 6: You can search for "department" and find contact information on every district website.
Step 7: The application form can then be picked up at the office.
