Bond yields trade higher on Tuesday

Bond yields traded higher on Tuesday despite fading hopes for a deal to end the Iran-U.S. war stoked inflation concerns. 

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields were higher on Monday as oil prices rose, with worries growing among investors about persistent inflation and government borrowing. Furthermore, Oil prices rose on Tuesday as talks between the U.S. and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz remained stalled, exacerbating concerns over a prolonged disruption to energy supplies.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 2 basis points higher at 6.82% from its previous close of 6.80% on Monday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 2 basis points higher at 6.45% from its previous close of 6.43% on Monday.
