A Ration Card is a vital document issued by the different state governments in India. It provides access to groceries and other essential commodities to the economically underprivileged sections of the society. UP Ration Card Type
Below Poverty Line (BPL) Cards
These are given to those that live fairly below the line of poverty. The members of this particular income group earn up to, but not equal to ₹10,000 per month.
Above Poverty Line (APL) Cards
Such cards are given to those people that are fairly above the poverty line and earn a minimum of ₹10,000.
Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Cards
This particular variant of cards are issued to those individuals that do not have a stable source of income and live way below the poverty line.
Let us now take a look at the documents that will be required to apply for a UP Ration Card.
In order to apply for a UP Ration Card, one must submit the following documents:
Passport-size photograph of family members residing in your house
Previous electricity bills
Bank passbook and a photocopy of the first page
Details of your gas connection
To apply for your UP Ration Card, follow these steps:
Visit the official website at https://fcs.up.gov.in/.
On the homepage, select ‘Download Forms’.
From the dropdown list, click on ‘Application Forms’. You will see the links to application forms for urban and rural areas.
Select your relevant application form link. Now, the application form will appear.
Download the application form.
Print your form and fill in all the details.
Submit the application at the regional CSC centre or Tehsil centre.
Note that any application form with incorrect or incomplete information will be rejected.
If you want to check the application status of your UP Ration Card online, you can do so on the official website of the Food, Supplies of Civil Services & Consumer Affairs Department of the state of Uttar Pradesh at https://fcs.up.gov.in/.
Under the E-services section, you will find the option to check the status of your UP Ration Card application.
The above steps could have one of the two outcomes: either you will see a list of the names of the people who have recently applied for a UP Ration Card and their respective status, or you will need to punch in the required details and then log in. Once you have logged in, you should be able to see the information.

In order to do so, you must visit the official food and civil supply department website that is hosted by the government of the state that you reside in. Post that, once you click on the ration card section, you must select a button that reads ‘addition of new members’. After filling in all of the necessary details and uploading all of the required documents, the member must wait for the verification process to go through successfully. As and when the verification process has been carried out successfully, the member will receive a message or an email stating the same.
After your application form has been submitted along with the required documents, you can expect your ration card to be issued within the time frame of 15 days after the successful completion of the verification process.
The application process for a ration card does not attract any sort of a fee. However, the member will be required to shell out ₹100 at the time of them collecting the card.
