mAadhaar App Download

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a mAadhaar mobile application. With this app, you can get secure access to your demographic details on your smartphone and verify your identity without carrying the physical Aadhaar card.

The mAadhaar app by UIDAI was launched in July 2017, and it allows you to view and update all your demographic data instantaneously. By initiating the mAadhaar app download and signing in, you can access all the services on the UIDAI or the Aadhaar website. 

You can update your address, enrol family members, order an Aadhaar PVC card, check the status dashboard, and more using a single application. Note that only the user has access to all the Aadhaar data stored in the app.

The mAadhaar application is available for download on any Android or iOS smartphone. Alternatively, you can get the link to download mAadhaar on the UIDAI website. Once you have downloaded the app, you can register with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number via OTP. 

Here are the step-by-step  instructions on how to download the mAadhaar app on your smartphone. 

• Step 1: Visit the Google Play Store or the App Store and start the mAadhaar app download

• Step 2: Once downloaded, press the ‘Consent’ button to register on the mAadhaar. 

• Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number

• Step 4: Enter the OTP and register on the app

Once the mAadhaar download is successfully completed, the next step is to register your Aadhaar profile on the app. By registering your profile, you get your Aadhaar details, such as your 12-digit Aadhaar number, mobile number, address etc, on the app. 

The steps to register your profile on the mAadhaar online app are very easy. However, make sure to have a stable cellular connection so that there are no issues in receiving the OTP. 

• Step 1: Launch the mAadhaar card application

• Step 2: Tap on the ‘Register Aadhaar’ button on the main dashboard

• Step 3: Create a secure password with a 4-digit PIN

• Step 4: Enter the required Aadhaar details

• Step 5: Provide the correct Captcha and tap ‘Next’

• Step 6: The mAadhaar app will read the one-time password (OTP) sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile phone number

With the OTP verification step, your profile registration is complete on your smartphone.

You can view your profile on the ‘My Aadhaar’ section on the bottommost tab of the application. Here are the steps you can follow to view your registered profile.

• Step 1: Launch the mAadhaar app on your smartphone

• Step 2: Tap on the ‘My Aadhaar’ option on the homepage

• Step 3: Enter the 4-digit PIN code

In case you forgot your password, here are the steps to reset your password on the mAadhaar app. 

• Step 1: Go to the mAadhaar online app

• Step 2: Tap on the “Reset Password” option on the app's home screen

• Step 3: Fill in the sections with the required details and tap on “Reset Password”

• Step 4: Enter the new password and confirm by re-entering the password

After resetting the password, you must log in again to confirm the updated password.

There are many reasons you may want to remove your profile from the mAadhaar App. For instance, you may want to register the app on a new device, or you may want to switch to an updated version. 

In such cases, you can follow these steps to delete your profile.

• Step 1: Open your mAadhaar application with the 4-digit PIN

• Step 2: Tap on the “My Aadhaar” section

• Step 3: Click on the three-dot menu at the top right corner

• Step 4: Tap on the "Delete Profile" option

• Step 5: Re-enter the 4-digit PIN for confirmation

• Step 6: Tap ‘Yes’ on the pop-up tab to confirm

The Time-based One Time Password or TOTP feature is a service available on the mAadhaar card app that helps you register when your mobile number is unavailable. For example, when you don’t have SMS service or have low signal on your device, you can register with TOTP on your mAadhaar.

By following three steps, you can easily create a TOTP on the mAadhaar app.

• Step 1: Log in to your mAadhaar app with the 4-digit PIN

• Step 2: Go to your profile and select the ‘Show OTP’ option

• Step 3: A six-digit TOTP will appear on the screen

Here are some of the important things you need to be aware of when using the mAadhaar app.

• You can only install this application on smartphones with Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0 and above operating systems

• Due to security reasons, you cannot enter any OTP in this application  

• You can add a maximum of five profiles in a single device

• mAadhaar online application is available only on a single device for any profile

• It offers you the benefit of sharing demographic-related information with your service provider using the QR code
