Housing Assistance Scheme (UKBOCWWB) - Uttarakhand

The Housing Assistance Scheme aims to provide financial support to registered construction workers, helping them secure stable housing.

 

Under this scheme, eligible workers can get an advance loan to either purchase or construct a house. The assistance is subject to conditions set by the Board, ensuring that only deserving workers benefit.

To get benefits under the Housing Assistance Scheme, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand

• The applicant should be engaged in building or construction work

• The applicant must be registered under the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (UKBOCWWB)

• The applicant must have been a member of the welfare fund for at least 5 years

• The applicant should have at least 15 years remaining before reaching the age of superannuation/retirement

To register under the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, applicants must submit the following documents:

• 2 passport-sized photographs

• Proof of Age

   

Any government-issued document verifying the applicant’s age

• Certificate of Work Experience

   

Proof of working as a construction worker for at least 90 days in the previous year

• Affidavit of construction work, attested by a notary

• Voter ID Card

   

As proof of identity and residency

• Ration Card

• Self-declaration certificate

• Identity proof of nominee (Aadhaar Card)

• Bank account details

To get benefits under the Housing Assistance Scheme, applicants must submit the following documents:

• Self-Attested Copy of Registration ID Card of Worker/Labour Card

• Copy of Aadhaar Card of Worker

• Self-Declaration Certificate

• Bank Account Details/Copy of the First Page of Bank Account Passbook

• Handwritten Certificate – Stating that the applicant has neither received such assistance nor applied for it in any other department

The Housing Assistance Scheme requires applicants to first register under the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (UKBOCWWB) before applying for benefits.

Registration Under UKBOCWWB

To become a registered construction worker under UKBOCWWB, follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Check Eligibility

• The applicant must be a construction worker aged between 18 and 60 years

• The applicant must have worked as a construction worker for at least 90 days in the preceding 1 year

 

Step 2: Visit the Registration Centre

• Eligible workers must visit the nearest Jan Seva Kendra (Public Service Centre) or Shramik Suvidha Kendra (Labour Facilitation Centre) with all required documents

 

Step 3: Complete Online Registration

• The officials at the centre will assist with the online registration process

• Upon successful registration, the applicant will receive a Registration Number for future reference

 

Step 4: Track Registration Status

• Applicants can track their registration status online by visiting https://ukbocw.uk.gov.in/DynamicPages/LabourSearch-hi.aspx 

 

Step 5: Identity Card Issuance

• After verification, a Photo Identity Card will be issued by the registration officer

 

Step 6: Validity and Renewal

• Registration is free of cost and is valid for 3 years

• After 3 years, workers must deposit ₹100/- every 3 years for renewal

Once registered, workers can apply for the Housing Assistance Scheme by following these steps:

1. The applicant must visit the nearest Shram Suvidha Kendra with all required documents

2. Submit the filled application form along with necessary documents

3. Upon submission, the applicant will receive an Application Number for future reference
