What is RGRHCL 

RGRHCL (Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Limited) was established in 2000 by the Karnataka government in the form of a ‘Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)’ to provide subsidised housing to financially deprived people of the state. What are the Objectives of RGRHCL

The Karnataka government has introduced the RGRHCL project with several objectives. Some of them are mentioned below:

1. Basava Vasati Yojana Housing Scheme: This scheme provides houses to people having lower financial standards as well as homeless individuals. 4. Dr B R Ambedkar Niwas Yojana: This yojana is intended to assist people from the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes reserved communities. Under this plan, the applicant gets a subsidy of Rs. 1.75 Lakhs to build or purchase a home through the state government.

5. Chief Ministers Multistorey Bangalore Housing Programme: To help poor residents of the state, the Karnataka government introduced Chief Ministers Multistorey Bangalore Housing Programme in 2021. The purpose of this scheme was to provide one lakh multi-story houses to the economically deprived people of the society. This plan gives the option to choose any flat as per your choice after making the payment.

Eligibility Criteria for RGRHCL Housing Scheme

Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Limited is the best initiative taken by the Karnataka government to aid EWS. However, in order to apply for this scheme, you must fulfil the eligibility criteria decided by the government.

According to this scheme, the Government will provide residents of Bangalore with affordable one BHK flats. However, the candidates eligible for this will be selected via a public lottery. Also, the applicants will have the flexibility to choose a flat in any constituency according to their convenience.

Multi Storey Bangalore Housing Scheme Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for Multi-Storey Bangalore Housing Scheme is as follows:

  • Step 1: Conduction of Lottery If the number of applicants is more than the number of houses available, a lottery is conducted to select the beneficiaries. However, it is essential to record the lottery session for future reference.
  • Step 2: GPS Verification The Panchayat development officers will conduct GPS verification of the plots selected by beneficiaries to check for vacancy in their preferred location.
  • Step 3: Uploading Details After verification, the authorities will upload the details of these beneficiaries on the online portal.
  • Step 4: Approval from Commissioner  The authorities must get the GPS verification documents digitally signed by the Commissioner for approval.
  •  Step 5: Approval from District Administration Authorities must get approval from the district Administration by getting the documents digitally signed by them.
  • Step 6: Final Approval Once done, the authorities will send the list of beneficiaries to the RGRHCL for their approval. 
  • Step 7: SMS Intimation The authorities will send an SMS to all the participating candidates stating the selection or rejection of their application.

  • Step 1: Navigate to the online website of Ashraya at https://ashraya.karnataka.gov.in/Index_Kan.aspx.
