How to Calculate Stamp Duty in West Bengal?

The Government of West Bengal is offering people the stamp duty and registration charges. The steps to calculate stamp duty and registration charges are mentioned below:

 

  • Step 1 - Go on the West Bengal Registration website.

  • Step 2 - You will see an ‘E-services’ underlined yellow. Click on that tab.

  • Step 3 - From the dropdown menu, click on the ‘Calculator for SD, RF, and MV’

  • Step 4 - You will be redirected to another window, you can choose any one of the four options that suit your case.

  • Step 5 - Click on the ‘stamp duty and registration charges’ option.

  • Step 6 - As soon as you select ‘stamp duty and registration charges’, a drop-down menu will be displayed, including your transaction major, minor, and local institution. Choose the option of your choice.

  • Step 7 - Fill up the necessary information, including the market value of your property. Select the ‘display’ option on the screen.

  • Step 8 - After you click on ‘display’, you can see the stamp duty and registration charges according to your property in West Bengal.

  • A pop-up will be displayed. Press ‘Ok’ to continue the procedure. Next, you will land on West Bengal’s GRPS Website (Government Receipt Portal System).

  • Click on ‘Make Payment’

  • From the drop-down menu of ‘Select Department/Directorate’, choose ‘Directorate of Registration and Stamp Revenue.’ Under the ‘Select Service’ box, select the ‘Payment of stamp duty, registration fee, and mutation fees. Tap to proceed.

  • You will be redirected to a page where you will have to fill up details like name, permanent address, contact details, and e-mail ID. Select the user type from the menu which suits you. A box regarding your query will appear with blank spaces for year and number, which you will have to enter. Now choose payment mode accordingly.

  • The total amount of stamp duty will be displayed on your screen. Click the ‘Submit’, you will be redirected to a page where all your details will be displayed. Recheck all the details and press confirm to complete the payment.

  • As soon as the payment is made, you will receive a notification for the same. You can download your challan by tapping on the ‘download challan option’.
