Here’s the eligibility criteria for the Mediclaim - Infections Water Borne Disease Cover:

• Applicants must be an Indian resident.

• Applicant’s age should be between 18 and 65 years.

• Coverage against expenses related to hospitalisation 

If the policyholder gets ill due to water borne diseases like cholera, hepatitis, typhoid, dysentry, or guinea worm disease, then they get coverage under this plan. The hospitalisation resulting from that illness should have happened within the policy year.   Every pre and post hospitalisation expenses of these water borne diseases will be covered under this policy for a period of approximately 15 days, up to Rs. 3 Lakh is insured. However, the diagnosis should be confirmed by a registered medical practitioner supporting it by clinical information.

• Coverage against expenses related to diagnostic tests

Medical expenses that occur due to the diagnostic tests pre or post hospitalisation are covered.

• Policyholders are not provided with coverage against treatment for pre-existing diseases.
