What's Covered Under the Cancer Secure Plan?

Major stage cancer

The diagnosis must be supported by histological proof of malignancy. The term cancer includes lymphoma, sarcoma and leukemia.

Ambulance charges

The cancer secure insurance plan covers road ambulance charges of up to Rs. 1,000 per incident.

What's not Covered Under the Cancer Secure Plan?

Here’s what’s not covered under the Cancer Secure Plan:

  • Hospitalisation expenses 

  • Pre-existing symptoms

  • Any illnesses apart from those specified under this policy

  • Consumption of narcotics or related substances by the policyholder unless recommended by a medical practitioner

The following kinds of tumours and cancers are exempted:

  • Tumours that are histologically described as benign, carcinoma in situ, pre-malignant, borderline malignant, neoplasm of unknown behaviour, low malignant potential, or non-invasive, including but not limited to Cervical dysplasia CIN-1, CIN -2 & CIN-3, carcinoma in situ of breasts. 

  • Any non-melanoma skin carcinoma unless there is proof of metastases to lymph nodes and/or beyond.

  • Malignant melanoma that has not caused invasion beyond the skin.

  • All tumours of the prostate, apart from ones histologically classified as having a Gleason score greater than 6 or having progressed to at least clinical TNM classification T2N0M0.

  • All Thyroid cancers that have been histologically classified as T1N0M0 (TNM Classification) or below. 

  • Any chronic lymphocytic leukaemia that is less than RAI stage 3.

  • Non-invasive papillary cancer of the bladder which are histologically come under the TaN0M0 or lesser classification.

  • All gastrointestinal stromal tumours histologically classified as T1N0M0 (TNM Classification) below and with a mitotic count of less than or equal to 5/50 HPFs.

  • All tumours and complications caused by them in the presence of an HIV infection or related to an HIV infection.
