KESCO is a Government of Uttar Pradesh undertaking under the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. It was formed on 14 January 2000 to manage electricity distribution in the Kanpur municipal area. The company is incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, by the U.P. Government. KESCO serves over 7,05,412 domestic, commercial and industrial consumers across Kanpur city. Its network comprises 93 substations at 33 kV level and more than 3,000 distribution transformers.
Headquartered at Kesa House, 14/71 Civil Lines, Kanpur, it oversees customer services and day-to-day operations. KESCO operates under the Electricity Act, 2003, complying with UPERC’s supply code and tariff orders. The company focuses on expanding its distribution infrastructure and reducing technical and commercial losses.
