May 2023: The real estate developers’ body of the state urged IGRS Telangana to restart the registration of Gram panchayat plots. This comes after the state government forbade the registration of such lands.
The body brought forward that in the last two years, these landowners faced a number of problems. The problems were primarily because they could not sell the land and get emergency access to funds.
IGRS Telangana is an online portal introduced by the Telangana government with an objective of providing registered land-related documents to the public. With the help of IGRS, the Telangana government can maintain records and offer services concerning Telangana registration EC or revenue collection.
Following are some aspects that make IGRS beneficial for Telangana residents:
It is a one-stop state government portal that offers multiple property-related services. You can search and validate an encumbrance certificate, pay property stamp duty and registration fees, know the market price of land, search out the SRO office, etc., all from a single portal.
It also contains information regarding the marriage registration process of different religions.
Since you get all the services online, you do not need to visit the respective physical offices of the state government, reducing your time and hassles. You can visit the IGRS Telangana portal for all these services at any moment you prefer from the comfort of your home.
After you make payment for property registration and stamp duty, the state government directly receives the amount, and you get the receipt copy immediately. Since there are no middlemen involved in this process, the chances of corruption are almost negligible.
You can access this portal to understand the government-approved fair price of agricultural or residential property or check their encumbrance status. This will help you know whether the seller is offering the estate at a reasonable price and whether it is free from legal or financial liabilities.
