Paying electricity bills with a credit card offers several practical advantages for consumers in Meghalaya.
Here are some:
Many banks provide reward points or cashback for utility payments. This adds value to routine expenses.
Credit cards allow consumers to pay immediately while deferring the actual debit until the billing cycle. This helps manage monthly cash flow.
MePDCL Meghalaya online bill payment systems use secure gateways with OTP verification, ensuring safety of card details.
Consumers can pay from anywhere, avoiding queues at physical centres. This is especially useful for those living in remote areas.
Credit card statements provide an additional record of payments, making it easier to track expenses.
When paying your MePDCL electricity bill in Meghalaya using a credit card, consumers should be aware of possible charges. These are usually applied by payment gateways or banks to cover transaction costs.
Here are the details:
Some platforms may levy a small fee for processing credit card transactions. This is typically a fixed amount or a percentage of the bill.
Certain banks may apply additional fees if the payment is treated as a cash advance. Consumers should confirm with their card issuer.
Payments made through apps such as Paytm or PhonePe may include nominal service charges. These are displayed before confirming the payment.
MePDCL online bill payment portals usually show the exact fee before the transaction is completed. Consumers can then decide whether to proceed.
