Axis Bank Hikes Fixed Deposit Interest Rates on Select Tenors

The leading private sector bank, Axis Bank, has reportedly revised the interest rates on fixed deposits less than Rs.2 crores. The bank has increased the applicable interest rates by 40 basis points on tenors ranging from 13 months to 2 years. The maximum rate of interest offered by Axis Bank on their FDs now stands at 7.26% p.a for non-senior citizens and 8.01% p.a for senior citizens. The bank also announced that the FDs that mature in 30 months to 10 years will not offer an interest rate of 7.00% p.a.

Axis Bank Hikes FD Interest Rates Following Repo Rate Change

Axis Bank has increased the interest rates on fixed deposits less than Rs.2 crores. The hike is in line with the RBI’s decision to raise the key rates of interest by 25 bps to 6.5% interest rate. The bank now offers interest rates on FDs maturing in 7 days-10 years that range from 3.50% to 7% for non-senior citizens  and 6% to 7.75% for senior citizens. It will be offering 3.5% of interest on FDs that mature in the next 7-45 days, while the interest rate of 4% on fixed deposits that mature in the next 46-60 days. The new rates of interest are effective from 11th February, 2023.

Axis Bank hikes interest rates up to 7.75% p.a. on FDs

Axis Bank has reportedly hiked the interest rates on fixed deposits on amounts up to Rs. 2 crore across tenors for non-senior and senior citizens. As per the bank’s official website, the revised Axis Bank FD rates will be effective from December 27, 2022. While the rate of interest for non-senior citizens ranges from 3.50% to 7% p.a. on tenors ranging from 7 days to 10 years, the interest rates on FDs for senior citizens range from 3.50% to 7.75% p.a. Non-senior citizens can now get up to 7% p.a. for deposits with maturity periods ranging from 2-10 years.
