Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana is a cashless healthcare scheme launched by the Government of Goa. This scheme has been designed to provide the residents of Goa with yearly medical coverage ranging from ₹2.5 Lakhs to ₹4 Lakhs per family. The DDSSY scheme covers 447 different procedures, including ones that require hospitalisation. 

 

To enjoy the benefits under this scheme, a nominal annual premium ranging from ₹200 to ₹300 per family is required to be paid.

DDSSY Benefits

Beneficiaries of Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana enjoy several advantages such as:

  • As a part of the annual health cover, cashless medical facilities are available which are capped at ₹2.5 Lakh a year for a family of three or fewer members.   • GMC and DHS Medical, both institutes have free OPD and primary care available to members of DDSSY.

  • The scheme covers up to 447 procedures that may require hospitalisation and takes into account the highest rates as incorporated from CGHS, states as well as institutes of national excellence.

  • There is an upper limit of ₹15,000 that applies to medicines for chronic health conditions like hypertension and diabetes.

  • Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy medications are covered as a part of DDSSY benefits.

  • Those hospitalised for mental health conditions or ayurvedic treatment shall be directed only to government centres.

  • High-end diagnostic treatment requires the reference of a government hospital or doctor and is available at fixed rates as per GMC.

  • Non-beneficiaries are charged 30% of the package rates in the procedures listed in Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana for the initial year. These charges go up to 60% and further to 100% in the second and third year respectively.

Eligibility Criteria of DDSSY

To be eligible for the Goa Government’s Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana, a prospective applicant should fulfil a few conditions. These include:

  • You should be a citizen of Goa living in the state for the past 5 years

  • You should not be a Central or State Government official already covered by the medical reimbursement scheme of the government

DDSSY Documents Required

If you are a Goa resident interested in enrolling in the scheme to avail of DDSSY benefits, here are a few documents you are required to furnish:

  • Aadhaar card

  • Enrolment’s acknowledgement slip

  • Residence proof that should have been issued 5 years ago. For instance, passport, driving licence, voter ID, etc.

  • Ration card

  • Certificate of income (as proof of yearly income below ₹6 Lakh for OBC individuals)

  • Caste certificate issued by either the Directorate of Tribal Welfare or the Deputy Collector for SC/ST applicants

  • Disability certificate for differently-abled individuals

How to Apply for Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana

To apply for the DDSSY new registration online, you must follow these steps:

  • Visit goaonline.gov.in and register by providing personal details of eligible persons like name, address, etc. along with OTP-based authentication

  • Now login and go to your profile to validate your Aadhaar card number

  • Fill in your card number and search for member details

  • Now generate OTP by clicking on the relevant link. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number for validation

  • Fill in the information in the mandatory fields and upload documents

  • Click ‘Proceed to Pay’ to make a payment towards the registration fee

  • After you are done with the payment, note down the acknowledgement number for tracking purposes

  • The DDSSY card will be available for download only after the verification and approval of the application are done

  • You should collect your DDSSY card within 30 days from the respective office that you select during application entry
