About HDFC Credit Card Charges and Fees in India

HDFC Bank credit cards come with a range of benefits which makes transactions both rewarding and seamless. You can use your HDFC credit card to avail instant loans, withdraw cash, convert your purchases into EMI, transact overseas, etc. The credit card also allows you to earn attractive discounts, offers, and rewards. However, to ensure that you use your card to the fullest without attracting unnecessary expenses, you need to be aware of the different fees and charges levied on your HDFC Bank credit card.

Types of HDFC Bank Credit Card Charges and Fees

Below is a list of the different types of charges and fees you can incur on your HDFC Bank credit card.

  • HDFC Credit Card Annual Fees: Also known as the HDFC Bank credit card yearly charges, these charges are levied once a year. In some cases, however, the annual fee is waived off against milestone spends. Also, if you own an HDFC credit card with zero annual fees, you are not required to pay this amount.

  • HDFC Credit Card Cash Advance Charges: If you use your HDFC Bank credit card to access cash from an ATM in case of an emergency, you are required to pay this charge.

  • HDFC Credit Card Finance Charges: Finance charges, informally referred to as interest charges, if you fail to pay your total HDFC credit card bill in full. Such a charge is imposed as a monthly percentage till the time the total outstanding dues are cleared. For cash advances, the interest charges are levied from the date of withdrawal itself; however, for skipped payments, the charges are levied from the first statement generation date post-transaction.

  • HDFC Bank Credit Card Returned Payment Charges: You incur this charge if your credit card payment bounces. This may be because of insufficient funds, frozen accounts, or closed accounts.

  • HDFC Credit Card Late Payment Charges: The HDFC Bank credit card late payment charges are levied when the minimum amount due on the card is not paid by the payment due date.

  • HDFC Bank Balance Transfer Processing Charges: You must pay this processing charge for availing balance transfer facility on your HDFC Bank credit card. It is a percentage of the total debt transferred from the other card to your HDFC Bank credit card.

  • HDFC Credit Card Loan Pre-Closure Charges: Closing your HDFC credit card loan before the tenor ends attracts a certain charge on the principal balance outstanding, which is known as the pre-closure charge.

  • HDFC Credit Card Foreign Transaction Charges: You are required to pay this charge if you use your credit card to transact abroad.

  • HDFC Credit Card Over Limit Charges: When the expenses on your HDFC credit card limit shoots, you are required to pay the overlimit charge.
